You may wonder what nutrition and wellness have to do with being the wife of an alcoholic.
The short answer is: a LOT.
When we are going through hard things we often neglect good eating habits, instead turning to junk food for comfort. We also don't take care of ourselves in any other physical way. We completely put ourselves on the back burner.
But the result of that can be devastating, because now not only are we going through hard things, but we are also run-down, zapped of energy, and completely devoid of any good nutrition which renders us totally unable to cope with anything, especially the difficulties of an addicted spouse.
It can also lead to a myriad of health problems on top of everything else.
As a result of all of the above we end up physically, mentally, and emotionally tapped out.
The purpose of Married to Addiction has always been to help you take better care of YOU, and this program is no different.
The goal of 'Simply Nourished' will be to teach simple good nutrition and wellness to the struggling and overwhelmed, and to make it much easier for you to care for your body so you can be better equipped to handle everything else.*
PS: Simply Nourished is not just for the wife of an alcoholic. It's for anyone who is struggling and overwhelmed, and could use some guidance around living healthier.

Taking good care of our bodies (our temples) is biblical, and in Daniel 1:12-15 we see a clear example of how much better God's food is for us than rich, unhealthy foods.
But in this modern world where we are all so busy it just seems like another chore.
And when you add on a layer of stress and overwhelm because of something difficult you're going through it can feel downright impossible.
I am passionate about nutrition and wellness and have studied it for many years. In fact, before Married to Addiction I had a nutrition and wellness platform and even wrote a cookbook!
I had assumed that part of my life was behind me once I was called to do what I am doing now, but then it suddenly hit me....

3. Build your 'Healthy Food Binder' from the recipe library, meal ideas, and food demos
That's it! Your healthy habits will stack up over time and you will find yourself transitioning into eating healthier foods in the process.
All of your learning will be done in your online Member Portal.
In Module One: 'Start Here' you will learn how to use the portal, and get an overview of the program.
In this module I'll show you how eating healthy is not as hard as it seems.
I'll simply break down what to eat, and why to eat it.
I'll also give you some awesome healthy swaps, so you won't feel deprived.
Here's where you will start to add some healthy habits to your life.
You'll have several to choose from, but you will implement them ONE at a time.
Making gradual changes helps you stay on track, and keeps you out of overwhelm so you don't want to quit!
This is where you'll lay out some goals for yourself based on the Healthy Habits you've chosen. You will also get a tracker to track your progress.
This is a great way to be accountable to yourself!

This is where most people get overwhelmed.
We will solve that problem in this module! You won't believe how easy this is.
There are so many 'healthy' products on the market....some good....and some not so good.
Here is where I will share my favorites so that you don't have to do the 'trial and error' yourself!
A: If you struggle with healthy eating or healthy living, then yes...this is for you.
(Please note that this is a faith-based program. There will be biblical references and mentions of our relationship with God.)

A: The program is housed on an easy-to-use program platform. You would simply log in to the platform to go through the modules and lessons. It is very user-friendly and self-explanatory.
A: There is no schedule inside the program. While I do encourage you to take action regularly so you can experience positive changes, there is no set timeline. You can move through the content as quickly or as slowly as you'd like.
A: Healthy changes typically do lead to weight loss in most cases, but weight loss is not guaranteed, and this is not a 'weight-loss' program per se. Our goal here is an overall healthier body.
